Recreational Facilities

Riding School

Just around the corner from the Cottage – 5 mins by car.

Bosvathick is a family run equestrian yard, which we think creates a warm and friendly atmosphere. Set in beautiful countryside with over 90 acres of farm and woodland, we have a selection of horses and ponies that are suitable for all ages and abilities. Nervous riders are encouraged to ride at their own pace, either taking a lesson or riding out with experienced escorts along our own fields and woodland.

Nearest Beach

Falmouth is surrounded by amazing beaches – Gyllyngvase, Swanpool, Maenporth and Castle – simply jump in to your far, head for Falmouth and follow the signs for the beaches – you will not be disappointed.

For those who like to surf, we would recommend going over to the North Coast.

Nearest Swimming Pool

If you are looking for a quieter swim, we would recommend trying the following hotels: Please note all have very good gymnasiums also!

  • Amy Jones, Make-up and Beauty, Falmouth, 07896 883826 (Amy is our daughter and offers a 10% discount to those staying with us!)

Footpaths of Interest

We very much like to walk around ‘The Point’ (also a lovely drive).
You can park your car at Gyllyngvase and walk around ‘the point’ taking in the view of Gyllyngvase Beach, Castle Beach, the view from The Point across to Flushing, St Mawes and St Antony’s Lighthouse, down past the Docks and back across the seafront. Why not stop at the Gyllyngvase Café for lunch, a drink or cream tea? Of course you can grab an ice cream on route!

Also from here you could walk the opposite away – starting from Gyllynvase, you could walk across to Swanpool, grab a coffee or an amazing icecream (the choices are unbelievable) at Swanpool Café and if you are feeling pretty energetic, why not keep going and follow the footpath across to Meanporth Beach – the views are simply breathtaking!

Although we have not personally taken the Ramblers route around Constantine, we have been informed it is very popular if you are looking for a more of a country walk!

Surfing

Many in Falmouth surf from Gyllyngvase Beach where you can also hire Paddle Boards and Kayaks from WesUP or Swampool where Elemental is based from where you can hire much of the same but on a larger scale.
However, many make their way over to the North Coast where the waves are more suited for the experienced surfer!

Golf

Falmouth Golf Club is the most popular (and where you will often find my husband!). If you wish to book a game, Steve can do this for you or you can call direct on 01326 311262.

Boat Trips

If you had down to the Pier in Falmouth, you can pick up boat trips from here.
